Accumulator
A single bet that combines multiple selections, where every selection must win for the bet to pay out. Also called a parlay in the US market. Common in sportsbook sections at casinos like 1xBet and 22Bet, where a 5x wagering requirement on accumulators makes the sports welcome bonus far more achievable than the 35x to 50x casino equivalent.
Ante
A mandatory starting bet placed before cards are dealt, most commonly seen in poker variants like Caribbean Stud Poker and Casino Hold’em. The ante commits you to the hand before you see your cards. In some live dealer poker formats, you then decide whether to raise (placing an additional bet) or fold (losing only the ante).

Baccarat
The undisputed most popular casino game in the Philippines. Two hands are dealt, Player and Banker, and you bet on which will be closer to a total of 9. Cards 2 through 9 count at face value, tens and face cards count as zero, and aces count as one. If a hand totals more than 9, only the second digit counts (a 7 and an 8 totalling 15 becomes 5). The Banker bet carries a house edge of 1.06%, making it one of the best odds in any casino. Multiple variants exist including Speed Baccarat, No Commission Baccarat, and Lightning Baccarat. Bankroll
The total amount of money you have set aside specifically for gambling. This is not your savings, not your bills money, not your food budget. It is a separate, predetermined amount you are comfortable losing entirely. If you deposit ₱5,000 into a casino, that ₱5,000 is your bankroll for that session. Managing it well means choosing bet sizes that let you play long enough to enjoy yourself rather than burning through everything in ten spins.
Blackjack
A card game where you try to get a hand total closer to 21 than the dealer without going over. Number cards count at face value, face cards count as 10, and aces count as 1 or 11 at your choice. You start with two cards and decide whether to hit (take another card), stand (keep your hand), double down (double your bet and take exactly one more card), or split (if you have a pair). Bonus buy
A feature on some slot games that lets you pay a premium, usually 80x to 100x your normal bet size, to skip straight into the bonus round rather than waiting for it to trigger naturally through regular play. High risk, high reward, and not something I would suggest for casual players or anyone on a tight bankroll. Bust
In blackjack, going over a hand total of 21. If you bust, you lose your bet immediately regardless of what the dealer’s hand shows. The dealer can also bust, which is why basic strategy involves knowing when to stand on lower totals and let the dealer take the risk of drawing another card.

Cashback
A percentage of your net losses returned to you automatically over a set period, usually weekly. Unlike deposit bonuses, cashback has no game contribution restrictions, a loss is a loss regardless of whether you were playing baccarat or slots. National Casino returns 10% weekly with no tier requirement, and MegaPari runs an 8-level structure from 3% up to 11% at the top tier.
Color Game
A traditional Filipino betting game where three dice are placed in a container, each showing one of six colours on each face. You bet on which colour or colours will appear face-up when the dice are revealed. Some online casinos now stream Color Game with a live host, blending the traditional format with live dealer technology. It is one of the simplest games to understand, which is part of its lasting popularity in the Philippine market.
Commission
A percentage taken by the casino from winning Banker bets in standard baccarat, usually 5%. This commission is how the casino maintains its edge on the Banker bet despite it winning slightly more often than the Player bet. No Commission Baccarat removes this fee but applies special rules on a winning Banker 6 to compensate.
Crash game
A game format where a multiplier climbs from 1x upward and you must cash out before it “crashes” back to zero. The longer you wait, the higher your potential payout, but if the crash happens before you cash out, you lose your bet. Aviator by Spribe is the most popular crash game in the Philippine market. These sit in the slots lobby at most casinos but play nothing like a traditional slot.
Craps
A dice game where players bet on the outcome of the roll of two dice. The most basic bet is the Pass Line: if the first roll (the “come-out roll”) is a 7 or 11, you win. If it is a 2, 3, or 12, you lose. Any other number becomes the “point,” and the shooter keeps rolling until they hit the point again (you win) or roll a 7 (you lose). Craps is more common at US and European casinos than in the Philippine market, but some live dealer platforms including Evolution offer it. The Pass Line bet carries a low house edge of 1.41%.
Croupier
The dealer or operator at a table game, particularly roulette. In live dealer casinos, the croupier is the person you see on camera spinning the wheel, dealing cards, or managing the game. The term is more commonly used in European casino contexts, while “dealer” is the standard in Philippine and US casinos.
Cryptocurrency
Digital currencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Tether (USDT) accepted as deposit and withdrawal methods at offshore casinos. Important for Filipino players: PAGCOR banned cryptocurrency deposits at all PAGCOR-licensed casinos in late 2025. This means OKBet does not accept crypto. Deposit match
The most common type of welcome bonus. The casino matches a percentage of your deposit in bonus funds. A “100% match up to ₱10,000” means if you deposit ₱10,000, you get ₱10,000 in bonus funds on top. The catch is always the wagering requirement attached to those bonus funds. BK8’s 288% match is the highest percentage on this site, but the 30% starter option with 8x wagering is usually the smarter choice for most players.
Double down
A blackjack move where you double your original bet and receive exactly one more card. You cannot hit again after doubling down. This is the correct play in certain situations, most commonly when your hand totals 10 or 11 and the dealer shows a weak card. Getting this decision right is one of the biggest edges basic strategy gives you over guessing.
Dragon Tiger
A simple, fast-paced Asian card game where one card is dealt to the Dragon position and one to the Tiger position. You bet on which will be higher. Rounds complete in under a minute, making it one of the fastest live casino games available. A tie bet is also available for players who want a higher-risk, higher-reward option. Even money
A bet that pays 1:1, meaning you win exactly the same amount you wagered. Red or Black in roulette, Player bet in baccarat, and a standard blackjack win (non-natural) are all even money bets. They are the lowest-risk bets available at most table games, though the actual odds are never truly even because of the house edge.
E-wallet
A digital payment service that lets you deposit and withdraw from online casinos without using a bank account or credit card directly. GCash and Maya are the two most widely used e-wallets for casino transactions in the Philippines. Deposits are instant at most casinos, and withdrawal times in my testing range from 15 minutes at BetWinner to around 24 hours at slower platforms.

Fishing game
A game format where you shoot at fish or other targets on screen, with each target carrying a different multiplied payout. These sit in the casino lobby alongside slots but involve a degree of aiming and timing that standard slots do not.
Flat bet
A betting strategy where you wager the same amount on every hand or spin regardless of whether you are winning or losing. It is the simplest and most sustainable approach to bankroll management. The opposite of a progressive betting system like Martingale (doubling after losses), which I do not recommend because it requires an unlimited bankroll to work, which nobody has.
Free spins
Spins on a specific slot game that cost you nothing. Usually bundled with a welcome bonus or offered as a standalone promotion. Game contribution rate
The percentage of each bet on a specific game type that counts toward clearing a wagering requirement. Slots almost always contribute 100%. Baccarat and live casino games typically contribute only 5% to 15%. This means a ₱10,000 bonus with 35x wagering is effectively 250x to 700x for a baccarat player. Always check this table before claiming any bonus if you primarily play live games.
H

A player who consistently wagers large amounts. Also called a whale in some casino circles. Hit
In blackjack, requesting an additional card from the dealer. You can hit as many times as you want as long as your total stays at 21 or below. The decision of when to hit and when to stand is the core of blackjack strategy. Basic strategy charts, which are based on mathematical probability, tell you the statistically correct move for every combination of your hand and the dealer’s visible card.
House edge
The mathematical advantage the casino holds over the player on every bet, expressed as a percentage. European roulette has a house edge of 2.7%. Baccarat’s banker bet sits at 1.06%, which is why it remains the most popular casino game in the Philippines. A lower house edge means better odds for the player over time. A blackjack side bet that sounds safer than it actually is.
Insurance
A side bet offered in blackjack when the dealer’s face-up card is an ace. It costs half your original bet and pays 2:1 if the dealer has a natural blackjack (a 10-value card underneath). It sounds like a safety net, but the mathematics are consistently unfavourable for the player. Basic strategy says to decline insurance in almost every situation. The only exception is for card counters who know the deck is rich in ten-value cards, which does not apply to online casinos using continuous shuffle machines.
J
The two most important software studios for Filipino-facing casino content.
JILI
The software provider behind many of the fishing games, crash titles, and locally themed slots that dominate Filipino online casinos. Super Ace, Money Coming, and Golden Empire are JILI staples. If a casino has a strong JILI lobby, it was built with Filipino players in mind. JDB is a similar Asian-focused provider with its own fishing and card game titles.
K
Terms covering identity verification and a lottery-style casino game.
Keno
A lottery-style game where you pick numbers (usually between 1 and 80) and the casino draws 20 numbers at random. The more of your picks that match the drawn numbers, the higher your payout. Keno carries a significantly higher house edge than most other casino games, often 20% to 30% depending on the variant, which is why it does not feature prominently in my reviews. Available at most casinos but not a game I would recommend as a primary choice for serious players.
KYC (Know Your Customer)
The identity verification process casinos require before they will process your first withdrawal. You will typically need to provide a government-issued ID (passport, driver’s licence, or national ID), proof of address, and sometimes a selfie holding your ID. Complete this at registration rather than waiting until you want to withdraw your winnings, since delaying it is the single most common cause of payout friction I see in player complaints.

Live dealer
Casino games streamed in real-time from a professional studio with a human dealer operating real cards, wheels, or dice. Everything happens on camera, so the results are not computer-generated. Licence (gambling)
The regulatory approval an online casino must hold to operate legally. PAGCOR is the Philippine domestic regulator. Curaçao, Anjouan, and Kahnawake are the three most common offshore jurisdictions for casinos serving Filipino players. A licence does not guarantee a casino is trustworthy, but operating without one is a definite red flag.

Maximum bet (with active bonus)
The highest bet you are allowed to place per spin or hand while a bonus is active. Most casinos cap this at ₱250 to ₱500 (or the equivalent in euros). Exceeding this limit while bonus funds are in your account can result in the bonus and any winnings being voided entirely, even if the excess was accidental. This is one of the most commonly missed bonus terms and a frequent cause of player complaints.
Megaways
A slot mechanic licensed from Big Time Gaming that randomises the number of symbols on each reel per spin, creating up to 117,649 ways to win on a single spin. High volatility, large potential payouts, and a very different rhythm compared to fixed-payline slots. Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza are two Megaways-style titles popular with Filipino players.
Minimum bet
The smallest wager a game or table will accept. Slot minimums can be as low as ₱1 per spin. Live dealer table minimums vary widely, from ₱50 at standard tables to ₱10,000 or more at VIP tables. Checking the minimum bet before joining a table is essential for bankroll management, since a ₱500 minimum on a ₱5,000 bankroll gives you only 10 hands before you are done.
Multiplier
A feature that multiplies your winnings by a specified amount. A 5x multiplier on a ₱100 win pays ₱500. Multipliers appear in bonus rounds, free spin features, and game show titles like Lightning Roulette (up to 500x on straight-up bets) and Crazy Time (up to 20,000x). They are the mechanic behind most of the large payouts you see on social media.

Natural
A hand that reaches its best possible total from the initial deal, without any additional cards being drawn. In baccarat, a natural is a two-card hand totalling 8 or 9, which ends the round immediately with no further cards drawn. In blackjack, a natural is a two-card 21 (an ace plus a 10-value card), which typically pays 3:2 rather than the standard even money.
No-deposit bonus
Bonus credits or free spins given just for registering an account, with no deposit required. OKBet offers ₱20 free on registration with a remarkable 1x wagering requirement. Vegasy offers 50 free spins on registration. The catch is almost always a maximum withdrawal cap or high wagering on winnings. Useful for testing a platform risk-free before committing real money.
O
Understanding odds is fundamental to making informed gambling decisions.
Odds
The probability of a specific outcome occurring, and the payout ratio attached to it. Odds can be expressed as a ratio (2:1 means you win ₱2 for every ₱1 bet), a percentage (33.3% chance), or in decimal format (3.0). In casino games, the payout odds are always slightly worse than the true mathematical odds of winning, and that gap is the house edge. Understanding this distinction is the foundation of making informed betting decisions rather than relying on gut feeling.

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, established in 1975. PAGCOR is the government body regulating all gambling within the Philippines. In 2026 it is transitioning toward a purely regulatory role with commercial operations being privatised. Payline
A line across the reels of a slot game on which a winning combination must land to pay out. Classic slots have a single payline. Modern video slots can have anywhere from 10 to hundreds of paylines, and Megaways titles replace fixed paylines entirely with a “ways to win” system. More paylines does not automatically mean better odds, it usually means higher minimum bet per spin since each payline costs a fraction of your total bet.
Progressive jackpot
A jackpot that grows every time someone places a bet on that game across all connected casinos, until one player hits it. Jackpots can reach into the millions of pesos. The trade-off is that the base game RTP is usually lower because a portion of every wager feeds the jackpot pool. Mega Moolah and Divine Fortune are two of the most well-known progressives.
Push
A tie result where neither the player nor the casino wins. In blackjack, a push occurs when your hand total equals the dealer’s total, and your original bet is returned. In baccarat, a Tie bet is a separate wager you can place, but the standard Player and Banker bets push (return your stake) when the result is a tie. The Tie bet in baccarat pays 8:1 or 9:1 but carries a house edge of over 14%, which is why I never recommend it.

Reload bonus
A bonus offered to existing players for making an additional deposit after the welcome offer has been used. Typically a smaller match percentage than the welcome bonus (25% to 50% is normal) with lower wagering. MegaPari runs a Friday reload up to ₱18,000 and 22Bet offers a Friday reload up to ₱6,200. The advantage over welcome bonuses is that you can claim them repeatedly.
RNG (Random Number Generator)
The software that determines the outcome of every spin on a digital slot or every deal in an RNG card game. Each result is generated independently and is not influenced by previous results. Licensed casinos have their RNGs tested and certified by independent auditing firms. This is how the casino ensures fairness without needing to rig anything, the house edge is built into the game mathematics itself.
Roulette
A table game where a ball is spun on a numbered wheel and you bet on where it will land. The two main variants are European roulette (numbers 0 through 36, one zero, house edge 2.7%) and American roulette (numbers 0 through 36 plus a double zero, house edge 5.26%). Always choose European when available, the single zero gives you significantly better odds. Bet types include individual numbers (35:1), red or black (1:1), odd or even (1:1), and various group bets. RTP (Return to Player)
The percentage of all money wagered on a game that is paid back to players over time. A slot with 96% RTP theoretically returns ₱96 for every ₱100 wagered across millions of spins. Higher is better. Most reputable online slots sit between 94% and 97%. Anything below 94% is on the low side. You can usually find the RTP by clicking the information button inside the game itself. RTP is a long-term statistical average, it does not predict what will happen in a single session.

Sabong
Traditional cockfighting, deeply rooted in Filipino culture and history. Online sabong (e-sabong) experienced massive growth during the pandemic years before PAGCOR suspended new e-sabong licences in 2022 following concerns about social harm and the disappearance of several cockfighting workers. Some offshore casinos still offer sabong-themed slot games, but live e-sabong under PAGCOR regulation remains restricted as of 2026.
Scatter symbol
A special symbol in a slot game that triggers a bonus feature, usually free spins, when a certain number appear anywhere on the reels. Unlike regular symbols, scatters do not need to land on a specific payline to count. Three scatters typically triggers the bonus round, though some games require four or five for the full feature.
Self-exclusion
A responsible gambling tool that lets you voluntarily block yourself from accessing your casino account for a set period, anywhere from 24 hours to permanently. Every licensed casino on this site is required to offer this. If gambling is starting to feel like a problem rather than entertainment, self-exclusion is the single most effective step you can take.
Shoe
The device (or virtual equivalent in online casinos) that holds multiple decks of cards during a table game. In baccarat and blackjack, a shoe typically holds 6 to 8 decks. The number of decks in the shoe affects the house edge slightly, with fewer decks generally being more favourable to the player in blackjack.
Sic Bo
A traditional Chinese dice game where three dice are shaken in a container and you bet on the outcome. Bet types range from simple Big/Small wagers (the total will be over or under a certain number) to specific triple numbers with high payouts. The Big and Small bets carry a house edge of 2.78%, making them the best value on the Sic Bo table. Popular among Filipino-Chinese players and available at most live casinos I review.
Side bet
An optional additional bet placed alongside your main wager, offering higher payouts for specific outcomes. Common in blackjack (Perfect Pairs, 21+3) and baccarat (Player Pair, Banker Pair). Side bets carry significantly higher house edges than the main game, often 5% to 15% or more. They add excitement but are not mathematically favourable over time. Treat them as occasional fun rather than a core part of your betting.
Split
A blackjack move available when your first two cards are a pair. Splitting creates two separate hands, each with its own bet equal to your original wager. You then play each hand independently. Always split aces and eights, never split tens or fives, these are the most important splitting rules in basic strategy.
SSL encryption
The security technology that protects the data sent between your browser and the casino’s servers. You can check for it by looking for the padlock symbol in your browser’s address bar. Every licensed casino I review uses SSL. If a casino does not have SSL active, do not enter any personal or financial information on that site.
Stake
The amount of money you place on a single bet. Your stake is the amount at risk on that particular wager. “Low stakes” means small bets, “high stakes” means large bets. The terms minimum and maximum bet define the range of stakes a particular game or table will accept.
Stand
In blackjack, choosing to keep your current hand total and take no more cards. The dealer then plays their hand according to fixed rules (typically must hit on 16 and stand on 17). Knowing when to stand, especially on totals of 12 through 16 against specific dealer cards, is the core skill in blackjack basic strategy.
Surrender
A blackjack option that lets you give up your hand and receive half your bet back before the hand plays out. Not available at all tables. Early surrender (before the dealer checks for blackjack) is rare and extremely player-favourable. Late surrender (after the dealer checks) is more common. Surrendering a hard 16 against a dealer 9, 10, or ace is correct basic strategy at tables where the option is available.
T
Terms covering table bet ranges and a common psychological trap.
Table limits
The minimum and maximum bets a specific table will accept. A live baccarat table with limits of ₱100 to ₱100,000 means you must bet at least ₱100 and cannot exceed ₱100,000 per hand. VIP tables have higher limits at both ends. Checking table limits before you sit down is essential, particularly at live dealer tables where limits vary significantly between standard and VIP rooms.
Tilt
An emotional state where frustration or anger from recent losses causes you to make poor betting decisions, usually chasing losses with larger bets or playing games you would not normally choose. Recognising tilt in yourself is one of the most valuable skills in gambling. The correct response is always to stop playing, take a break, and come back when you can make decisions calmly. Never increase your bets because you are angry about losing.

Two terms that directly affect how much value you actually get from a casino over time.
VIP / Loyalty programme
A structured rewards system that gives escalating benefits based on how much you play. Common perks include cashback, faster withdrawals, higher limits, dedicated account managers, and personalised bonuses. MegaPari’s 8-level programme is the most transparent I have reviewed, showing exactly what you earn at each tier. For casual players, the entry tiers are where most of the practical benefit sits.
Volatility
Also called variance. This describes how a slot distributes its payouts. Low volatility means frequent smaller wins, so your balance stays relatively steady. High volatility means longer dry stretches followed by larger payouts. Neither is objectively better. If you have a small bankroll and want longer sessions, pick low volatility. If you are chasing a big hit and can stomach the swings, high volatility is your territory.
W
The single most important term in online casino gambling, plus the slot symbol that completes winning combinations.
Wagering requirement
The number of times you must bet your bonus amount before you can withdraw any winnings from it. A ₱1,000 bonus with 35x wagering means you need to place ₱35,000 in total bets before the bonus converts to withdrawable cash. At ₱50 per spin that is 700 spins. BK8’s 8x to 10x wagering is the lowest on this site and I cleared it in a weekend. Compared to SpinBetter which sits at 30x, and still below the market standard, which is 35x.OKBet’s 1x on the no-deposit ₱20 is the most player-friendly term I have ever tested. Wild symbol
A special symbol in a slot game that substitutes for other symbols to complete winning combinations, similar to a joker in a card game. Some slots feature expanding wilds (covering an entire reel), sticky wilds (staying in place for multiple spins), or multiplier wilds (multiplying the payout of any combination they complete). Wilds do not usually substitute for scatter symbols.
Worth bookmarking
